Remote Hearings and Conferencing

Share exhibits during a remote hearing

Present documents cleanly without exposing your inbox or case folders.

The goal is to show only the exhibit — never your desktop, inbox, or file list. Set this up before the hearing starts, not during it.

  1. Put every exhibit in one folder and open each PDF before the hearing so it is already a separate window.
  2. When you share, choose the specific application window — not Entire Screen — so notifications and other files stay hidden.
  3. Turn on Do Not Disturb (Windows: Win+N, then Focus assist) so pop-ups cannot appear on the shared window.
  4. Practice the stop-share step. Knowing where the red Stop Share button is prevents the most common mishap.

Some courts require exhibits be emailed to the clerk in advance. Confirm the court's rule before relying on screen share alone.
