Recover an account through its official support route

Personal Microsoft or Apple Account; work accounts handled by IT

Help center

When to use this: Recover an account through its official support route — use these initial checks when this matches your situation. On a work or school device, follow your organization's policies and stop if a setting is managed.

  1. Open the provider’s official support page below yourself.
  2. For a personal Microsoft account, follow the forgotten-password process and verify identity using your own recovery method.
  3. For an Apple Account, use Apple’s password-reset guidance from its official Account Support page.
  4. For a work or school account, use your organization’s approved recovery process.
  5. Enter codes only into the official recovery flow you started.

Check the result: The provider confirms the reset or explains the next recovery step.

Stop and get help when needed: Never send passwords, recovery keys or one-time codes to a technician. DefenderTech cannot bypass ownership checks or guarantee recovery.

Need hands-on help?: Request DefenderTech support for individualized investigation or changes. We will explain the scope and estimate and ask for authorization before paid work begins. Do not include passwords, recovery keys or verification codes in your request.
